business and marketing is often a matter of perspective. The business focuses on profits, marketing focuses on getting customers. Marketing has to be able to prove their efforts are worthwhile for the business to receive any benefit from their work.

Business is what makes marketing possible, it’s the backbone of any company. A business is a company or organization engaged in the trade of goods, services, or both to consumers. A company can be a small, independent, family-owned business or a multinational conglomerate. Businesses can be privately owned, publicly traded, or state-owned and contain varying numbers of employees, which is correlated with the size of the company or organization.

Marketing is all about the product.

Marketing is the process of gaining exposure to a product or service and establishing a market for it.
It’s all about figuring out how to get people to buy products and generate revenue.
Marketing includes advertising, branding, social media influence and more.
It is about building a brand, and it brings together the what, who, why, when, where and how of an organization’s communication with its customers or potential customers.
In the early days of marketing, business was done “offline” through personal contacts, word-of-mouth referrals and newspaper ads. Business is now mostly done “online” with e-commerce and social media platforms.

Business is about providing value to customers. Marketing is about communication. Business is a way of creating value for customers. Marketing is a way of communicating what you do to your customers. Business comes first, and then marketing.

One of the biggest differences between business and marketing is the fact that a business is designed to offer a product or service, whereas marketing is the activity of promoting and selling a product or service.

Marketing is more about long term action items and business is more about short term action items. They are very similar in many ways but marketing focuses on a three to six month campaign, whereas the business focuses on the three to six month or longer strategy. A business is more about the heart whereas marketing is more about the brain.
